When you ask many people what worship is, you get responses like:
singing together in church…
a choir singing…
singing hymns…
singing choruses…
playing an instrument,
and so on.
But if we are to really understand true worship, it’s anything that brings honor and glory to God.
Worship can be expressed thru the arts including music, drama, dance and visual art. So much of the arts has been left out of our churches for so long for various reasons.
The church today is full of talented, gifted people who need to express their love for Christ. We believe that they are all important and should be a vital part of New Testament Worship.
At The North Church we will be utilizing each of these areas. Our goal is that you will experience music that will prepare your heart for hearing His word. You might see a drama that will inspire your soul or interpretive dance that will draw you into His presence. Also there may be times you see an artist painting or drawing during the service to enhance the music or message.
As we begin our journey, if you are gifted in any of these areas, we would love for you to become a part of our family. Louie Giglio says it best: " Worship is, our response both personal and corporate to God....for who He is and what He has done, expressed in and by the things we say and the way we live" !
